ABOUT US
The Spokane, Spangle & Palouse Railway (SSP) is one of three branch lines within the Palouse River and Coulee City Railroad (PCC) network. Owned by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), SSP has a long-term contract to operate, manage, and develop what is known as the P&L branch line. Serving Spokane and Whitman Counties, SSP operates across 68.2 miles of active track between Marshall and Fallon, Washington. SSP has a heavy presence in the agricultural, chemical and empty car storage sectors. Our connection to and beyond the North American Rail network is conducted with BNSF in Marshall, Washington.
SSP is a subsidiary of Omaha Track, Inc., a company that has been providing quality, reliable service to the railroad industry for over 40 years. We are a privately held company, we started with three employees in 1983 selling relay rail ties to landscapers in Omaha, Nebraska. Since our simple start of selling used railroad ties to landscapers, we have transformed into a leading railroad material supply company and rail services contractor in North America.
Management
SSP employees have deeply rooted railroad industry experience that enable us to operate and market our line at an efficient rate. Our management team members have an average of over 30 years of rail-related experience across Class 1, regional, short line and contractor roles. Our field employees, making it happen on a daily basis, average 15 years of experience in their specific craft. We leverage this deep-rooted experience across the rail industry to operate the best rail network possible that empowers our customers to grow their current portfolios and expand into markets.
